Centre Loaded Helically Wound 1/2 Wave
The "G Whip" backpacker antenna consists of two helically wound units representing a reduced 1/2 wave dipole and it is centre loaded (coils are inserted between the main helical stem and the resonator half way along the length of each 1/4 wave element), the antenna covers 3.5 to 28 Mhz. (No tuner required) and is around 12 feet (4 Mtrs) in total length.
A lightweight version of the base station antenna that packs into a sturdy 45 " carry tube with strap. Ideal for portable HF operating.
Can also be used as a mobile antenna as it is 2 x 1/4 wave resonant units (mobile mount needed).
Covers 10/20/40/80 Metres @ 150 w pep as supplied, WARC and other bands available, purchase pairs of coils as required (Note: Not 160 mtrs).
Built to the same standards as the "G Whip" base antenna but uses a lightweight centre box supplied with mounting clamps for 1 1/4" tube, can be mounted on a tripod or short mast, 2 helically wound 26" fibre glass stems with solid brass fittings, coils for 20/40/80 Mtrs, stainless steel resonators and whips.

STOP PRESS: 24 MHz can be added by using the longer whips supplied, 18 MHz can be added by the addition of 21MHz coils and the use of the longer whips which are supplied, and 5MHz can be added by using the 7MHz coils and the longer whips supplied, giving a total of 8 bands.
