In 1967 “ G Whip” was born by
"Frank GW3DZJ", known as the G Whip man, he designed a resonant centre
loaded mobile antenna system
for "Top Band and upwards" which over
the next 40 years went from amateur to commercial strength as no antenna tuner
is required.
Over 10 Thousand (yes you read it right) were sold worldwide from just one small advert in an amateur radio magazine, then came along the commercial users to boost the business even further.
The success of "G Whip" was

"G Whip" continues with
upgraded commercial materials, stainless steel and non ferrous materials, new models for base station operation, mobile operation, special
receive antennas that use a superb balun for matching the high impedance line and End Fed single banders.
Note: Most "G Whip" antennas do not require an ATU (Antenna Tuning Unit to match the antenna) as G Whips 1/2 wave base and 1/4 wave mobile antennas are resonant, it takes a couple of minutes to change coils to the required band or frequency. After all, if you use an ATU you are not tuning the antenna, you are matching the transmitter to the antenna and loosing power.
R&D now brings other designs like the dedicated end fed antennas which are superb.

1/2 wave End Fed antennas are the hottest seller, whether running 5 watts or 100 watts the results are superb, these dedicated tuned antennas require no matcher and no adjustment, just install and connect your coax. Kevlar wire element ensures no breakages and will last a lifetime, and now, there is a lightweight smaller QRP/low power version
