Various Pictures from G Whip owners

Remember the days of the most popular mobile set up for 80/160? The Codar AT5 transmitter and a Codar T28 receiver, coupled to a G Whip antenna, even I had one in the late 60's mounted on my Zepher Zodiac and my old friend Tom G4BUU used to operate it on the way to rallies (Preston Lancs). The G Whip was mounted on the wing with an adjustable angled base like the old telescopic car aerials. I dare say that if you were going to fit the G Whip to the modern vehicle the wing would probably give way! So, here's the answer, a "Tow Eye" mount, and, if you have any pictures of your G Whip installations, then please share them with us.

"I would like to say again how well the mount is made, very strong  and easy to fit. I found that I did not need the earthing strap, as the SWR was 1:1 and it made no difference to the slight amount of ignition noise I was experiencing. Luckily the Icom 706 MK2 Noise blanker is superb on this type of interference. Needless to say, I do not run the Extenda rod when mobile !  The aerial is set up with the 160M loading coil, this G-Whip is 41 years old ! " Andy G3UEQ

Below is an install by Richard G6ICZ, showing his "G Whip" mounted on his Land Rover, note heavy duty earthing strap (supplied with our heavy duty mount). Richard mainly operates on 80 mtrs and is having great mobile fun.
