No iron cores are used
Ni/zn cores are used in all our products. Iron Powder cores can be lossy, in fact measurements prove a loss of some 2 to 3db in certain configurations and that means half of your precious power is lost in HEATING of the core. One competitor even advertises that he suspends his cores in the box to improve airflow around the core! If you are wasting your power as heat there is something wrong with the design.
Enamelled or PTFE coated wire is used
Commonly used PVC insulation is a bad choice for many reasons. The coaxial sockets are PTFE too.
Where possible/necessary either potting compound or acrylic adhesive is used to ensure mechanical stability, durability and immunity from the effects of the weather increasing the life of the antenna.
This is used for all the external hardware where possible, again increasing the life and reliability of your antenna.
Manufactured specially for antenna use it has a Kevlar core with a braided conductor. It will not stretch or break under normal use.
Depending on the product and application, a selection of goodies to help with the installation is provided such as self amalgamating tape, cable ties, thimbles, cable grips, insulators, heat shrink tubing and a few meters of cord.
All this at a price similar to that charged by our competitors.
